In the back of ‘Light on Yoga’ is a 300 week yoga programme. I though it would be interesting to practice week one. Guruji said “My body is my first prop”. Today this is all I had too, so this is a practice without any other props, not even a mat 🙂 and I kept slipping in the sand which made it slightly more challenging.
For more info about the poses check out the Light on Yoga book, it is amazing.
Next week I will put up the second version I made, with props and shoulder stand too.
Love and light,
Lucy
A 45 minute yoga practice going through standing poses and then into shoulder stand.
A little delayed but for those of you who came on retreat with me, I hope this brings back some wonderful memories.
Smile, stretch and settle.
Love and light,
Lucy
When I have only 15 minutes for a quick yoga practice, I do something a little like this.
As you practice, have strength as your intention.
My first teacher Elizabeth used to remind us “strong practice – strong mind, strong mind – strong practice”
Stay respectful of your body, respond to it’s needs.
Practice and enjoy xx
Yoga twists are such a great way to lengthen and strengthen the paraspinal muscles, rejuvenate the organs as they become squeezed and released, and bring more energy into the body.
B.K.S. Iyengar describes twists as a “squeeze-and-soak” action.
Bharadvajasana is a favourite of mine.
Lets twist again,
like we did last summer,
with a care and consideration.
Enjoy
Moving from dog head down through to standing poses, this practice will energise you body and refresh your mind. I love teaching here in St Ives. If you watch carefully you will see Dan and friends getting out of the water after their swim. Happy days 🙂
Take your yoga outside. Warrior poses need no mat, just good flat non slip shoes or bare feet if the surface is suitable.
10 minutes is the time these three poses took, go on, I’m sure you have time 🙂
Enjoy.
If you fancy an Italian holiday in Ischia, I will be teaching from the 11th -18th June

It was such a beautiful day, I felt the need to stand on one leg.
I love Iyengar yoga, it has supported me for many many years.
This yoga practice will bring strength, balance and poise.
Settle in for a lovely relaxation at the end too.
Enjoy,
love and light,
Lucy
Here are some simple stretches to bring a bit of fluidity to your shoulders. I also cover tree pose and standing.
This was filmed on the beautiful island of Tresco.
I apologise for some poor sound quality when I turn my back to the camera, I only came out for a walk to meet Dan.
Enjoy x

In today’s session I will guide you through gentle hip movements to help with Lotus pose, aka Padmasana.
Look after your knees, listen to your body. Soften into this yoga practice and enjoy.
Ustrasana or Camel pose is a wonderful heart opening pose, it lifts the spirit and opens up the chest.
Standing poses bring strength to the legs reminding us to remain grounded.
This little film was made one morning on Tresco (one of the Isles of Scilly). Listen out for the birds, so so soothing.
Enjoy your practice,
Lucy
